Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; has Time New Roman font type, employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The paper has less than 15% similarity index on Turnitin

Author Guidelines

SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Statement of Ethics

Dear author(s), before submitting your manuscripts to PUTAJ-HSS, please ensure:

  • that all the authors of the manuscript have agreed for authorship;
  • that all the authors have read and approved the manuscript;
  • that all the authors have given consent for submission and subsequent publication of the manuscript;
  • that the order of authorship has been agreed by all named authors prior to submission;
  • that full names, institutional affiliations, highest degree obtained by the authors, and e-mail addresses have been clearly mentioned on the title page; and
  • that the corresponding author, who takes full ownership for all the communication related to the manuscript, has been designated and his/her detailed institutional affiliation (including the postal address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address) are provided.

Conflict of Interest

The author(s) are advised to disclose any conflict of interest on the title page of the manuscript. 

 

Manuscript Preparation
1. Language
The language of the manuscript must be in English (British standard).

2. Length of paper
The length of the paper should not exceed 5000 words. Paper containing more than 5000 words will be returned to the author(s) to reduce. Articles should be typed in double-space (including footnotes and references) on one side of the paper only (preferably A4) with wide margins. Authors are urged to write as concisely as possible, but not at the expense of clarity.

3. Title Page
The title page is a separate page before the text. It should include the following information: 

Title
The title should be concise and informative. Try to avoid abbreviations where possible.

Authors’ names and affiliations
The given name and family name should be clearly indicated. The authors' affiliation addresses should be mentioned below the names. All affiliations should be after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Please provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name, e-mail address, and telephone numbers of each author. 

Corresponding author
In the case of two authors please make sure that:

  • One author has been designated as the corresponding author with contact details:
  • E-mail address
  • Full postal address

Sponsoring information
If the research is sponsored or supported by an organization, please indicate it.

4. Abstract
A concise and factual abstract is required (maximum length of 200 words). The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the methodology used and the principal results and major conclusions. References should be avoided, but if essential, they must be cited in full, without reference to the reference list. 

5. Keywords
Please provide a maximum of 6 keywords, avoiding general and plural terms and multiple concepts. 

6. Subdivision of the article
Divide your article into clearly defined and sections. The abstract is not included as a section. 

7. Table and Figures 
Present tables and figures at the end of the article. Please note that the article will be published in black and white.

8. References 
Author(s) should follow the latest edition of APA style in referencing. Please visit www.apastyle.org to learn more about APA style 

Citations in the text
Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Avoid citation in the abstract.

Reference List
References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary.


9. Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting the manuscript, author(s) should check the following list:

  • Manuscript has been 'spell checked' and 'grammar checked'
  • All references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • Text is single-spaced, with 12 points New Times Roman font style, all illustrations, figures and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points and not at the end.
  • Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources.
  • The submission has not been previously published and is not for consideration for another journal
  • The submission file is in Open Office, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format
  • The manuscript has been made in the light of the Journal’s author guidelines.
  • Author(s) did not mention his or her name and affiliation in the main text
  • Author(s) has read Journal policies detailed in this guide.
