Originality and Plagiarism Policy

Ancient Pakistan publishes only original and ethically conducted research. Articles submitted to the journal must be the authors' own original work, must not have been published previously and must not be under consideration by another journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the ideas, words, data, illustrations and findings of others are properly acknowledged through accurate citation and referencing. All articles submitted to Ancient Pakistan are screened for plagiarism by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), University of Peshawar, using Turnitin software. The Editor reviews the similarity report in accordance with the HEC plagiarism policy. Where unacceptable similarity or plagiarism is identified, the article is returned to the corresponding author for revision and resubmission. Only articles that satisfy the journal's originality requirements proceed to peer review.

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, redundant publication, text recycling, simultaneous submission, salami publication and the unacknowledged use of others' ideas, data, figures, or images are considered unethical.

Where misconduct is confirmed, the journal may reject the manuscript, request corrections, retract the article, or notify the relevant institution where appropriate.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

AI tools may be used to assist with language editing or improving readability but cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work and should disclose any substantial use of AI during manuscript preparation.
