Abstract

Sandstones md shales of the Middle Siwalik of the Kotli area have been studied petrographically, chemically and pectrochemically. By comparing the overall compositions of these rocks and those of the rock fragments present in the constituent sandstones, it has been concluded that the Middle Siwalik rocks have been derived born igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary formations lying to the north and northeast of the area, towards the Pir Panjal Range.
