Abstract

In any era of history its political events cast lasting effects over the society in variegated aspects, when some undesired or unfortunate political incidents take place; they do affect the writers of that era. The writers are consciously or unconsciously influenced by such incidents in their writings. Urdu Afsana (Urdu short story) is also of no exception. This article is an endeavor to highlight, depict and analyse the effects of such political tragedies which took place before partition of sub continent and their effects on Urdu Afsana (Urdu short story) Especially the Tripolitania war and Jalianwale Orchard (Bhag) Tragedy.
