ABSTRACTAziz Ahmed (1914-1978) a noted Urdu writer, translator, critic and novelist is regarded a genuine creative voice against social injustice.This article is consisting of analytical study of his novel Aag (Fire) that published in 1946. Novel theme is based on miseries that a poor carpet waivers family in Kashmir must face, for three consecutive generations. However, at same time, Aziz Ahmed with due craft presents the larger picture, attached to the other end of the chain of cause and effects. He outlines the colonial policies and political struggle of the age as backdrop of this novel. It could be safely concluded that the novel in its theme and craft could be ranked as excellent creative presentation of social and political realities of its time.
