Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi is considered one of the leading fiction writers in Urdu. He was authority in depiction of rural phenomenon and his writings depict various characters representing bucolic life. The characters like peasants, his miseries, his youth, his love, deprivedness, handedness of landlords, and all related issues are discussed in his writings.Nadeem's collections of fiction works are including Chopal, Bagholay Tulou-o-Ghuroob, Gardaab, Sailaab, Aanchal, Aablay, Aaas Paas, Dour, Dewar, Sannata, Bazar-e-Hayat, Barg-e-Hina, Sailaab-o-Gardaab, Ghar Se Ghar Tak, Kapas Ka Phool, Neela Pathar, and Koh Paima.Reading his works, in accordance with the recent age, gives a clear understanding that his writings are not monodimentional and changed according to the situations, for example Neela Pathar is different from his early exhibition of postoral life. He seems to accept social changes openly and this dissertation is to discuss and analyse the changing of rural life, its social and cultural norms in Qasmi's fiction works.
