Abstract

Muhammad Sufyan Safi who belongs to Hari Purr, Hazara is known as a poet who is standard bearer of modern mannerism. Hitherto his two printed books named "Poon Ye Bheid Bta" and "Usay Chand Gungunay" have been brought into public view. Philosophical conscience, religious perception, thematic mysticism, romantic tradition, political and social conscience along with many other contemporary themes are evident from his poetry. Maturity of artistic conscience accompanied with thoughtful attitudes grants him a unique writing style which is special to his personality. His affection for Islam, his inclination towards the very concept of nation, his pure love for Muslim Ummah and feelings of sympathy, spiritual and emotional allegiance and patriotism for Pakistan and an ever penetrating desire to do something only for the sake of his country are amongst many other themes that provide Sufyan Safi's Nazem and Ghazal with a distinctively attractive style.
