Abstract:

Rekhti is a controversial and very popular genre in the history of Urdu poetry. This genre was neglected by the early historians of Urdu literature due to its sexual contents but apart from their reservations Rekhti is very much important due to its cultural and Gender perspective. In this research paper the researchers have analyzed the cultural background of the dress and ornaments which have been discussed in Rekhti by the poets of that time.
