Shibli Naumani represents one of the rare blends of Muslim intellectual endeavours in British India. He known for his book series of Muslim biographies Namwran-e Islam, written on scientific and modern standards. The last of that series in his monumental works is Seerat-un Nabi on the life of the Prophet of Islam. This short article is an analysis of his style in Seerat-un Nabi and discovers that his upbringing along with social change had directly contributed on his choices for writing style. He born while India was still ruled by Mughals, and thus his initial education and training contains all traditional norms. However, the innate astonishing abilities of Shibli, acquired more than his contemporaries from traditional education. Right in his youth, he saw the transfer of power from Mughals to British and the resulting social change compelled him to stand with Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the torchbarrier of Western education for Muslims in British India. Shibli through affiliation with modern institutions and the western intellectuals soon adopted the latest academic trends in his writings. The article in details furnish the elements of individual style of Shibli along with analysis for their sources.
