The progressive movement emerged as a major movement. This movement played a vital role in the promotion and development of Urdu literature. The movement showed a new path to Urdu fiction, poetry, drama and criticism. His motto was Literature for Life. So the movement acted on it and created such literature. From which the relationship of literature remained connected with life. The progressive movement shed light on the bitter realities of society and presented the problems of the working and middle class to the people. Of particular importance to the progressive movement was the realism movement, in which many fiction writers came to the fore. The progressive movement attracted Urdu fiction to social realities. In their stories, these fiction writers made the sorrows, pains, worries, ignorance, superstitions and class contradictions of their time the subject. Instead of covering up the realities of life, the novelists of the progressive movement began to consider it their art to express these facts. The fiction of this period not only matured technically but also adopted realism. Among the tendencies of the progressive movement was that they considered literature as the mouthpiece of life and the main purpose of literature was to recognize the realities of life. The progressive movement had given full religious freedom, there was no restriction on religion, but there was a restriction, so that nothing could be said against the freedom of the homeland. The work of literature should be only preaching of faith, literary point of view and literature for life. This movement made a new name in the history of Urdu literature. Qasmi's status was unique from other progressives. He was against human society, economic and financial inequalities. He was in favor of giving equal rights to all. Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi was against the scholars who used the slogan of literature for literature but they used the slogan of literature for life by linking them with human and social relations. Qasmi used to say that one class should not rule over another class, the powerful should not oppress the oppressed; the system of justice should be established. He never went to the extent of deviating from God and religion. Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi also belonged to the progressive movement. He was the secretary general of this movement. The ideas of the progressive movement are evident in his novels "Alhamdulillah", "Sanata", "Red Hat", "Evolution" and "Shroud Burial.
