Abstract:
Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Siddiqui, born in Akbarabad (Agra) in 1880, got fame in the world of poetry as Seemab Akbarabadi. He was the editor of "Murassaa', published Agra Newspaper and established an institution of literary composition and compilation in the name of Qasr-ul-Adab. The title of 'Nishan Sipas' was conferred on him by the Government of Pakistan for his literary services. Seemab was a disciple of Dagh. Along with ghazal and modern poetry, he also made a name for himself in Naat-goi. His Naat---poetry in praise of Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH, not only encapsulate the beauty of the Prophet's life but also serve as a reflection of the magnificence of the prophethood. Simaab kept in view the blessings and influences of the message of the Holy Prophet who is the mercy to the world (Rahmat Alam). Under the influence of the movement for the betterment of humanity, initiated by the Holy Prophet the great benefactor of humanity , Simaab worked against societal ills through his poetry. His attempt to breathe new life into the broken existence of the Islamic nation is the distinguishing feature of his metrical composition. He has also requested the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for help by describing the national pain and suffering in the language of poetry.
