Abstract

As a means of poetic expression of feelings and emotions, poem is the name given to expressing one's conscience within a certain set of rules, but if one considers its evolutionary journey on a spiritual level, it is very wide-ranging.Poetry is an Arabic word and all the words that indicate a system or discipline are derived from it. Therefore, poetry has a special preference over prose due to its word arrangement. Sound conditions, fluctuations and musicality are the characteristics of a poem due to which the poet adapts his point of view to an experience or subject and molds it into the form of that style.

If we consider the narratives of different periods of Urdu poem, it appears that this genre is completely united in its essence, which requires a special breadth of knowledge and study from the reader which is based on the subject and good style. When a good poem is deep, it must be meaningful. It is through this that an element of sweetness and pleasure prevails.The ideas that have been formed about this genre from its evolutionary journey show that it is a word which is suitable for the speaker's own sense, harmony and lyricism, so we distinguish it from prose.
