Abstract

Progressive movement started in 1936 in Sub Continent. This movement influenced Urdu literature. As far as poetry is concerned, it was greatly influenced by this movement. A lot of poets took part in this movement. Faiz and Jalib were also among these poets. Fiaz was an active member of progressive movement. He wrote poems which are a reflection of progressive movement. Jalib was also the member of progressive movement. He accepted prison, punishment and fine, but did not leave this movement. The article is about both the poets and their role in progressive movement.
